Weight Discrepancy – Weight Disagreement Between Seller & Carrier

Weight discrepancy refers to an issue arising between a seller and the courier company for the attributed weight of the package. It happens usually when the courier company disagrees with the order weight provided by the seller.

Weight discrepancy is an issue that arises while shipping parcels with courtier companies. In this issue, the weight as provided by the shipper while shipping the parcel contradicts the weight that is measured by the courier company. Since the courier company charges based on the weight of the package, such an issue leads to a dispute, where the shipper has to justify and submit proof if they want to raise a dispute for the issue.

Often weight discrepancy arises when the shipper mentions the true or dead weight of the parcel during the processing of a shipment, On the other hand, the courier company prefers to charge the shipper based on the volumetric weight of the parcel.
